Agronomy Crops Field Day Hancock Agricultural Research Station Thursday, July 27th, 2006, 9AM to Noon.
The Hancock Agricultural Research Station is hosting an Agronomy Crops Field Day on Thursday, July 27th, 2006 from 9 AM to Noon. This year marks the 90th Anniversary of the Hancock Station.
Dr. Joe Lauer, UW-Extension Corn Specialist, will be giving a presentation on selecting corn varieties based on expected energy costs. What will be your drying costs?? Are there other energy cost factors that should be considered when selecting corn hybrids for next year??
Dr. Larry Bundy, UW-Extension Soils Specialist, will go over his research projects to include slow release nitrogen fertilizer projects. Are these products right for your farm??
Tim Everson, Olds Seed Solutions, will show a special forage crops demonstration project. RoundUp Ready alfalfa and premium forages blends will be featured.
Scott Boyea, Packerland Whey Products, Inc. will discuss the new liquid nitrogen fertilizer product they are calling N-Lock. It is a stabilized whey product that is slow release thus resists leaching.
Bruce Andersen, Bio-Gro, will present information on the use of liquid fertilizer products at planting and during the growing season. Bruce’s discussion will cover nitrogen, humic acid and micro nutrient products to fit specific cropping systems.
The Agronomy Crops Field Day is open to growers, agronomy consultants and conservation organizations, rain or shine. For more information, please contact Jeff Breuer at the Hancock Agricultural Research Station, 715-249-5961.
