The Soil Science Department has revised UWEX publication A2809 Soil Test Recommendations for Field, Vegetable, and Fruit Crops. There are several changes to the bulletin including a new name, Nutrient application guidelines for field, vegetable, and fruit crops in Wisconsin.
The revised bulletin will be available at the end of November. This bulletin will be the main topic for discussion at the Fertilizer Dealer Meetings that take place from November 28 though December 7 (See the October issue of Wisconsin Crop Manager for meeting details: http://ipcm.wisc.edu/wcm/pdfs/2006/wcm06-27.pdf). Highlights of the revisions include: 1) complete reorganization of material into chapters; 2) addition of P2O5 and K2O crop removal information; 3) new lime recommendations; 4) MRTN for corn added; 5) PPNT and PSNT information added; and 6) probability of response to starter fertilizer in corn added. Please plan to attend the Fertilizer Dealer Meetings to learn all the details and get a copy of the new bulletin.
