Introducing Matt Ruark, Extension Soil Scientist
We would like to introduce Dr. Matt Ruark, as the new Assistant Professor of Nutrient Management and Extension Soil Scientist. Dr. Ruark started in September of 2008 and has already participated in many events such as the Wisconsin Crop Management Conference, the 2008 Soil, Water, and Nutrient Management Meetings, and the Northern Ag Safari. Dr. Ruark earned is BS and MS from the University of Minnesota (1999, 2002) and his PhD from Purdue University (2006). His previous research has focused on nitrogen, phosphorus, and carbon cycling and losses from agricultural systems. He has been involved with a wide range of research projects from sugar beet production systems in southern Minnesota, to corn and soybean systems in Indiana, to rice production systems in northern California.
