NPM Program Announces Two New Employees

The University of Wisconsin-Madison & Extension Nutrient and Pest Management (NPM) Program is pleased to announce two staff additions.

Ashley Lorence is the North-central Regional Outreach Specialist for the NPM Program. Ashley comes to Wisconsin from Kansas State University where she recently received a M.S. degree in Agronomy with an emphasis on precision agriculture/soil science. Ashley will be on the UW-Madison campus for a five to six-month period and then will relocate to an office in north-central Wisconsin. Jamie Patton is the Northeast Regional Outreach Specialist for the NPM Program. Jamie is well known in the state after serving as the Shawano County UW-Extension Crops & Soils Agent for nearly five years. Jamie’s expertise is in soil health, cover crops, and nutrient management/soil science. Jamie’s phone number is 608-807-8530 and her e-mail address is jjpatton2@wisc.edu.

The purpose of both of these positions is to deliver educational programs, in conjunction with county and regional partners, that promote farm management practices for protecting water quality while maintaining or improving farm profitability.
