White Clover Control

Life Cycle:

Perennial

Biology:

Low-growing perennial with creeping stems that root at the nodes.
 Reproduces from seed
Identified by trifoliate leaf with white V on leaflets

Cultural Management:

White clover is associated with low nitrogen fertility; fertilize lawn to promote healthy, dense turf.

Mowing:

Maintain lawn at 3 inches.

Herbicides:

Herbicides that contain MCPP will control white clover. 2,4-D alone doesn’t control clover. Apply in late summer; early fall.
