Herbicide Injury Diagnostic Key Key Map
Start of Key

Consider these herbicide modes of action:

Grass meristems rot and are easily pulled from the whorl, broadleaves are not affected.

Soybean leaves develop reddish veins and have shortened internodes.  Corn plants have shortened internodes (stacking), a yellow flash may develop in the whorl, the leaves become crinkled, and the ears may develop a pinched appearance.

Plants gradually turn yellow and die, non-selective.
